Privacy Policy

Pushpendra Kumar ("we", "us", or "our") built the MapSeal app (package name: com.map.camera) as a free Android GPS camera. MapSeal lets you capture photos and videos with an optional location-based stamp (coordinates, GPS accuracy, address, and a mini-map).

This Privacy Policy explains what information is accessed, how it is used, and which third parties are involved. By using MapSeal, you agree to this policy. For privacy questions, contact sainipushpendra51@gmail.com.

MapSeal does not require an account. Core capture works without sending your photos, videos, or GPS tracks to MapSeal servers — we do not operate a media backend.

2.1 Camera

Live preview, photos, and videos are used for capture. Files are stored on your device via Android MediaStore under Pictures/MapSeal and Movies/MapSeal. They are shared only if you choose to share them.

2.2 Location

Latitude, longitude, accuracy, optional altitude, and a timestamp are used to stamp captures and may be written to photo EXIF. Location is read only while the camera screen is in use (foreground). MapSeal does not request background location. GPS is not passed into ad requests for targeting.

2.3 Address and map imagery

Approximate address text comes from Android reverse geocoding based on coordinates. Mini-map snapshots use the Google Maps SDK (with a static-map fallback). Address and map pixels are baked into the media you create on the device.

2.4 Microphone

Optional. Used only when you record video with sound. Audio is stored inside the video file on your device.

2.5 App settings

Stamp options, grid, timer, audio default, reduce-motion, and onboarding flags are stored locally (DataStore / local database). They are not synced to a MapSeal server. Cloud backup of app-private data is disabled (allowBackup=false).

2.6 Advertising, analytics, and diagnostics

Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and the User Messaging Platform (UMP) may process advertising ID and consent signals. Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance collect app events, crash reports, and performance traces. MapSeal does not log GPS coordinates or media file paths into telemetry.

MapSeal requests the following permissions. You can change them anytime in Android Settings.

MapSeal does not request background location, contacts, SMS, call logs, or broad photo / video library access (READ_MEDIA_* or legacy storage for browsing other apps' media). A camera is required hardware; GPS hardware is preferred but not strictly required.

1. You see an in-app disclosure explaining location use before or during the permission flow.
2. While the camera is open, MapSeal reads location for the accuracy chip and stamp (coordinates, accuracy, optional address, optional mini-map).
3. For photos, stamp content is baked into image pixels; GPS may also be written to EXIF.
4. For videos, a live overlay is burned into frames during recording.
5. Address text comes from the Android Geocoder path on the device / OS.
6. Mini-map imagery is obtained via Google Maps SDK (developer Maps API key).
7. If location is denied or skipped, capture still works; the stamp shows location unavailable.

• Photos: Pictures/MapSeal/ via MediaStore (filenames such as MapSeal_timestamp.jpg).
• Videos: Movies/MapSeal/ via MediaStore.
• You can view, rename, delete, and share from the in-app gallery and viewer.
• Deleting in-app removes the file from the device as implemented.
• Uninstalling removes app-private data; MediaStore photos and videos may remain in device galleries until you delete them.

MapSeal is free and shows ads via Google AdMob, subject to Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent where required (for example EEA/UK).

• Banners: Gallery and Settings. Not shown on Camera, Viewer, Onboarding, or permission flows.
• Interstitials: Natural breaks such as after share, or when leaving Viewer toward Gallery. Frequency-capped; not shown during capture or video finalize; not shown on cold app launch.

You can open Settings → Privacy & Ads → Ad personalization to manage Google ads privacy choices (UMP privacy options). Advertising partners may process device identifiers and interaction data under Google's policies. MapSeal does not sell personal information as a data broker product.

MapSeal uses Firebase (Google), project services for:

• Firebase Analytics — aggregated product usage (screen views, capture/share events). GPS coordinates and media paths are not logged.
• Firebase Crashlytics — crash and error diagnostics (app version, capture mode, camera state).
• Firebase Performance — traces around capture and video finalize.

These help improve reliability. Data is processed by Google as described in Google's Firebase documentation.

MapSeal is a general camera utility with ads. It is not directed at children under 13 (or under the age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided data, contact sainipushpendra51@gmail.com.

• Media and preferences remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
• Permissions can be changed in Android system Settings at any time.
• Ad personalization choices can be revisited in-app where Google UMP requires it.
• To request deletion of any data we might hold outside the device (for example support emails), contact us at the address below.

Where required by law (for example GDPR regions), Google UMP may present a consent form before personalized ads. Camera and core capture are designed to keep working even if ads or consent fail.

• Google Maps SDK — mini-map for stamps; map requests over the network; map pixels in your media.
• Android Geocoder — address from coordinates on the device / OS path.
• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — banners and interstitials; advertising ID, consent, and ad interaction data per Google policies.
• Google UMP — consent and privacy options.
• Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance — usage, crashes, and performance metrics.

MapSeal does not operate its own backend that stores user photos, videos, or GPS tracks.

We may update this page. The "Last updated" date will change. The in-app Privacy Policy link always points to the latest version on this website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

You have the right to:

• Access: View media in Pictures/MapSeal and Movies/MapSeal and settings in the app.
• Delete: Remove captures in the gallery or the device file manager.
• Opt out of location or microphone: Deny those permissions; camera capture still works without place data or without audio.
• Uninstall: Remove the app to delete app-private data.
• Request deletion: Contact us about any analytics or support data associated with your device or messages.
